Kaabil is an overdone drama film with more bad sections than good, and is a perfect example of too many cooks spoiling the broth.

Plot: Rohan Bhatnagar(Hrithik Roshan) is a young and blind man who falls in love with Supriya(Yami Gautam), who is also blind. They get married soon after coming across each other and a few days into their married life, Supriya gets raped by Amit(Rohit Roy) and his friend Wasim. Supriya commits suicide with the fear of being raped over and over again after the police refuse to do anything about it as the accused is the younger brother of established and resourceful politician Madhavrao Shellar(Ronit Roy). Distraught and having lost faith in the system, Rohan sets out to avenge his wife's rape by killing Amit, Wasim and Madhavrao, and succeeds in doing so.

What's to like: First and foremost, Hrithik took on a challenging role, playing a blind man in a commercial movie, and he wasn't half bad. His character in the form of Rohan was convincing and he played with a good spectrum of emotions, which is why it was a job well done on his behalf. The script had a few good twists and turns every now and then, and would've been excellent had it not been tampered with as much. The Hrithik-Ronit chemistry was a joy to watch, with Ronit Roy delivering a good performance as the bad guy.

What's not to like:

The story felt very overdone and tampered with, as it was a colossal mix of several people's opinions, lacking execution by miles. The directorial job is practically non existent, as the director failed to see past Hrithik Roshan's role in the movie. Yami Gautam's performance was below average, and she seemed too-good-for-life throughout the movie. The cinematography in the film is poor and doesn't live up to the standards of a commercial movie, and the sets looked unconvincing and dull, with the art direction being unrealistic. Coming down to the script, there was no build-up to Hrithik's and Yami's character sketches as a couple, and the dialogues were hollow. There were quite a few technical glitches in the movie, for instance when Rohan kills Wasim with his bare hands and the crime scene is examined, the forensics ignore the concept of fingerprints which would lead to Rohan's capture immediately. The parts played by the supporting actors were loud to a point where it makes you question their roles on screen. Take the off-beat music and poor choreography along with bad music composition, and every song in the movie feels like noise.

Why you should watch it:

Very few sections of the movie show the trauma that a woman goes through after being raped, and it holds a very distant and subtle social message for all of us. Watching Ronit Roy play the bad guy on screen is exciting, and after pairing it with Hrithik's passion on screen, you have a thrilling masterpiece for those few scenes at least.
